Lt Gen Dewan Rabindranath Soni, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, GOC-in-C (Southern Command), accompanied by Mrs. Suman Soni, President, Army Wives Welfare Association (Southern Region) visited Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala on 07 August 2018. The General is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
The all female officer crew of INSV Tarini crew visited Indian Naval Academy on 04 Aug 2018 and interacted with the cadets, officers, sailors and families of the station. The team visit aimed to motivate the young cadets of Indian Naval Academy by sharing experiences and challenges faced by the crew during the 254 days circumnavigation voyage. Named the ‘Navika Sagar Parikrama’, the expedition was is the first Indian all-women crew to circumnavigate the globe.
Inter Squadron Debate Championship for Autumn Term 2018 on topic “Social Media is Often More Truthful than Mainstream Media Since There is no Middleman Called The 'Editor' ” was held at Indian Naval Academy (INA) on 03 Aug 18. The event saw sharp views and equally incisive repartees between 12 debaters from all Six Squadrons who spoke for and against the topic.
A delegation comprising Lieutenant Gabrielle Dobson and three Midshipmen of Royal Australian Navy (RAN) visited Indian Naval Academy (INA) from 24 to 30 July 2018.
The visit was aimed at reinforcing the robust professional relationship between the two navies and to exchange best training practices. The delegation visited the various training facilities, interacted with Instructors and trainees and was given general insight on the ab- initio training methods of the Indian Navy.
The Inter Squadron Cross Country Championship at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala was conducted on 29 Jul 18. Braveheart Squadron emerged victorious in the Inter Squadron Cross Country Championship for Autumn Term 2018. This 12.5 km run is designed to test the endurance of cadets and includes running on road, fields, hillslopes and sea beach. Rear Admiral Puneet Chadha, VSM, Deputy Commandant, INA flagged off the event participated by 533 cadets from the six squadrons of the Academy.
Cdt Shubham Vats won the Gold medal. Capt S Hazarika, Training Captain (Design), INA, congratulated and presented the individual medals to the proud winners.
Officers, Midshipmen and Family members of Indian Naval Academy rode with him in bicycles from Payyanur to Pappinisseri to bolster his expedition. The officer is on a solo cycling expedition to create awareness regarding “Armed Forces Flag Day”.
