The 12 days All India Annual Training Camp for Senior Wing (SW) Girl National Cadet Corps (NCC) Cadets which commenced on Saturday, 14 January 2017 concluded at Indian Naval Academy today Wednesday, 25 January 2017. 170 NCC Girl cadets from all parts of the country participated in the camp held under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarter, 9 Kerala Naval Unit NCC and Indian Naval Academy. The camp was aimed to develop the qualities of leadership, selfless service, secular outlook, character, kinship, discipline and enhance the spirit of national integration among the participating cadets. During their camp at INA the NCC cadets were exposed to camp life, outdoor activities, community living and were provided training in specialised maritime subjects utilising the physical and academic training facilities of INA including a self contained campsite and watermanship activities centre. The NCC girl cadets were also provided opportunities to interact with the trainee officer cadets undergoing ab-initio training at INA. The NCC girl cadets obtained first hand insight into the grinding daily regime of the trainee officers and developed good understanding of the ethos, values and the Honour Code that each trainee officer imbibes at INA. Rear Admiral MD Suresh, NM, Deputy Commandant, INA awarded various prizes and certificates during the closing ceremony. In his concluding address to the NCC girl cadets he congratulated each participating cadet for their personal accomplishments and encouraged them to remain focused to attain their goals, become role models for the society at large and choose the Navy as a career option if they had the fire in them to undergo a tough training curriculum since the Navy could not afford to fail in delivering on commitments. He finally wished them success in all their endeavors.
