FINALS OF INTER FLOTILLA ROWING REGATTA AND PULLING CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDES

The finals of the Inter Flotilla Rowing Regatta and Pulling Championship which assesses team dynamics, cohesion, resilience, endurance and morale of the participants concluded today, Sunday, 18 February 2018 from Kavvayi backwaters. The event was witnessed by Vice Admiral SV Bhokare, AVSM, YSM, NM, Commandant, Indian Naval Academy (INA), Officers, Instructors, families, Midshipmen and Cadets of the Academy. 
228 trainees took part in the championship with both Flotillas of the Academy fielding a team in eight different categories. The event saw maiden participation of cadets in 27 feet Drop Keel (DK) whaler pulling competition. The teams competed fiercely in rowing and pulling over a distance of two km in Kavvayi backwaters on Coxed 4 / Coxed 8 class rowing boats and 27 feet DK Whaler. 11 races were held during the championship.
Flotilla One, comprising of Achiever, Braveheart and Cheetah squadron emerged victors in the Inter Flotilla Rowing Regatta and Pulling Championship. Vice Admiral SV Bhokare, AVSM, YSM, NM presented the trophies and individual prizes to the winners.
