SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH: WREATH LAYING CEREMONY AT KANNUR WAR MEMORIAL

The ‘Victory Flame’ symbolising Golden Jubilee of the victory of India in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, transited from INA to Kannur War Memorial on 20 Mar 21 and was received by Lt Col D Karamchand, Officiating Commandant of DSC Centre, Kannur and Rear Admiral K Mohanan AVSM (Retd), a 1971 War Veteran. In a befitting ceremony, wreath honouring the valour, bravery and sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces was laid by the Veterans and personnel of Indian Army and Indian Navy. The ceremony was witnessed by civil dignitaries including Shri T O Mohanan, Mayor of Kannur, Ex-Servicemen, Defence Security Corps personnel and NCC cadets.
The ceremony culminated with a Pipe Band display by the DSC centre. The event was made memorable for hundreds of citizens of Kannur, who find a strong connect to the Indian Armed Forces.
