Training camps ‘Barracuda’ for 106 A/ 107 Indian Naval Academy Courses and ‘Rookie’ for 33 Naval Orientation Course respectively, were conducted at INA from 06 to 09 Oct 21. A total of 191 trainees including 28 women and six International trainees participated in the challenging camps, which are aimed at developing esprit-de-corps, camaraderie and leadership qualities, whilst testing physical endurance and mental strength of the cadets. The camp activities comprised of endurance runs in and outside the environs of INA, small arms firing, tent pitching, construction of rafts and punting, obstacle courses, whaler pulling along with other seamanship evolutions. On the final day, the cadets also participated in a highly challenging quadrathlon comprising a 10 km run in full battle gear, 50M swimming, obstacle course and weapon firing. Cheetah Squadron and Eagle Squadron won the Camp Banner for Camp Barracuda and Camp Rookie respectively for Autumn Term 21. Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi, AVSM, NM, Commandant, INA awarded the Camp banners and trophies to the winning squadrons during the Camp Fire and congratulated all the participants for successfully completing a milestone training activity.
